I have found myself slightly obsessed with recreating my own childhood memories with my kids (mainly since my Mum died). It started as a kind of test (e.g. would they actually enjoy a holiday in Wales?) but my God, it pays off and then some!!! It's the special times of your youth that remain with you forever, and these memories are our duty (not too strong a word?) as parents to preserve for our kids as their legacy. That's why I do what I do....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6944840689067015608.post-40987044288621185862012-05-03T10:13:17.067+01:002012-05-03T10:13:17.067+01:00I think it's lovely to have plans in mind of t...I think it's lovely to have plans in mind of things you'd like your children to experience. Plus it gives you goals for things to work towards and save for.
This year we've been making a real effort to get out and do "something" every weekend. We've been to farms, the coast, out to run around in the rain. I know that my little guy is too young to remember it now, but I'm hoping it'll get us in the habit of going out and having adventures together as a family. We've jokingly called it Our Mission to Make Memories. But I think spending quality time together is so important and it's often so easy to let life get in the way.
A lovely post hun, it really made me smile.
